Durham Tees Valley Airport is undergoing a £56m investment programme to improve facilities in order to attract both new airlines and additional passengers. The airport currently handles 1 million passengers per annum, operating to more than 20 popular holiday destinations direct and serving key business destinations including London Heathrow, Amsterdam and Brussels.

Robin Hood Airport Doncaster Sheffield is the UK's newest airport, having opened in South Yorkshire in April 2005. With over 45 destinations to 21 countries across the world including direct long haul flights.
