Our current investment in transport…
Over the past four years we have continued to develop high quality transport infrastructure to support demand for travel to The Trafford Centre. We already provide a wide range of facilities and services that deliver opportunities for employees and visitors to travel to the Centre by public transport, on foot and bicycle as well as the private car.
Existing initiatives include;
• A 16 bay on-site bus station providing information and waiting facilities.
• High frequency bus services to Manchester and Salford city centres, plus many other town centres.
• The development of over 25 regular frequency bus routes to the site, providing up to 40 bus services an hour to The Trafford Centre.
• The Trafford Centre Shuttle Bus service, one of the first examples in Greater Manchester of a truly integrated passenger transport service, providing a ‘non stop’ bus shuttle to and from Stretford Metrolink station.
• Provision of dedicated cycle and walking paths around and approaching The Trafford Centre.
• Public Transport information on website.
• Dedicated Trafford Centre Public Transport Guide.
• Website based car sharing scheme, available to all employees within the Centre.
We intend to build upon this existing investment by the introduction of further initiatives and facilities. The development of The Trafford Centre Travel Plan will co-ordinate these existing and future measures and maximise the opportunities for travel by alternative modes.
