Even prior to the opening of The Trafford Centre, we took the issue of transport to the Centre and the provision of a range of travel modes very seriously. We have worked with the Highways Agency and Trafford Metropolitan Borough Council to deliver significant road and traffic management improvements; negotiated with bus operators to develop a comprehensive bus service network and deliver our busy bus interchange; worked closely with coach operators to provide tailor made facilities to encourage a wide variety of leisure coach trips; developed high quality walking and cycling routes around The Trafford Centre site; produced dedicated facilities for disabled person access and continued to liaise with GMPTE to progress plans for a direct Metrolink connection. In addition we are looking at rail provision in the area with a view to developing better links to the Centre. We believe that the implementation of The Trafford Centre Travel Plan, and the provision of further transport infrastructure such as the possible Metrolink route, will maximise travel opportunities to The Trafford Centre and help achieve our new transport goals.
